Here is what you can expect in the upcoming release and what events are on the horizon. The release is expected to go live Tuesday, October 29th at approximately 15:30 UTC. This release will be a rolling release, meaning we will scale up the percentage of people with the release over a few days to minimize bugs or crashes. Below you will find the updates included in this release.
- Zwifters have a new cycling badge to collect! The BRAEk-fast Crits and Grits route in Scotland is now available for all Zwifters and grants XP and a badge upon completion.
- Looking for a friendly wheel to join? Zwifters will now receive a notification when a friend starts Zwifting in the same world. Simply use the Teleport feature to join them.
- The gradient percentage shown in the dynamic elevation display now changes more smoothly during a climb.
- The symbol for the distance indicator in the HUD has now been updated to provide 100% (IYKYK) clarity.
- The estimated difficulty and duration for the Navig8 and Power to the Tower routes in Watopia are now more accurate.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the Zwifters Nearby list to not be visible when fan viewing another Zwifter in an event paddock.
If a group ride leader or sweeper leaves the group ride, their beacon will transition to the alternate ride leader or sweeper after 1 minute instead of the previous 10 minutes. This is now consistent across all platforms.

For our clubs, this is a golden opportunity to increase visibility, grow membership, and showcase their events to a wider audience.

Tour of Watopia is coming back! Registration will open on September 30, and events will be live starting October 15.
This year marks the 10-year anniversary of Zwift, and Tour of Watopia 2024 is primed and ready to celebrate a decade of cycling and running fun. The 2024 ToW will take riders on a trip back in time, starting with some of the first routes in Watopia. From there, it’s all about cruising through fan-favorite routes all the way to Zwift’s roots, where a special surprise awaits. And to top it off, Zwifters will earn Double XP and epic unlocks all along the way!

In order to receive credit for routes completed in the Route Chaser: The Grade challenge, Zwifters will need to first click on the challenge card, and click a route card within the challenge. This will register you for the challenge. After that, routes completed within the Route Chaser challenge will count towards challenge progression. As a reminder, routes completed prior to registering for the challenge will not count towards challenge progression.

The original (black) Zwift Cog was released in October 2023 with the Zwift Hub One; it was updated for the Wahoo KICKR CORE Zwift One—sold with the Zwift Ride with KICKR CORE and the Wahoo KICKR CORE Zwift One. In Fall of 2024 we released an updated (orange) Zwift Cog, you can buy this as an upgrade kit.
